How do fairy doors handle the weather?
Wee Folk Outfitters uses quality sealing stains and gives each door a generous protective coat of semi-gloss lacquer. Keep in mind, though, that if installed outdoors – especially in direct sunlight or exposed to extreme weather conditions – the colors will eventually fade, the finish will dull, and the wood will ultimately get that “driftwood” look to it. Just like your wooden outdoor furniture or deck.

To keep your door looking its best, we recommend giving it a light yearly coat of lacquer or polyurethane. For regular cleaning, dish detergent and water are fine – just don’t soak it in a bucket for two weeks.
